Music at St Martin's
Our Choir
Though traditional hymns are sung during services, we are gradually adding newer words and tunes to the repertoire. At present mid-week choir practices focus on these except when special music is required, as at church festivals such as Easter and Christmas. We welcome anyone who would like to join with us for our rehearsals, whether or not they wish to sit with the choir during services (and the ability to read music is not a requirement). For festivals, when we sing special anthems, we are joined by singers from other churches and friends and family members.

Our Instruments
Following the fire which ravaged the church in 1989, a new two-manual organ was specially built for the church and installed by J.W.Walker & Sons, and a new upright Grotrian-Steinweg piano was acquired

Musical Events
Our church is available for hire by outside musical associations and has served as the venue for some very well-attended concerts.

Our organ has been played by well-known concert organists, and from time to time we hold recitals.
